- This type of composite floor has the advantage that it keeps its color under the influence of UV rays, unlike wood essences that must be maintained regularly so that the color does not migrate to shades of gray.
- Also, this composite deck has a clean appearance, not having large visible granules as there are in other composite decks, and the brushing of the surface gives it a clean and visually pleasing appearance.
- The high density of the material gives it resistance over time compared to other WPC decks that have a lower density PE component.
- Composite floors are a very resistant and maintenance-free alternative to wooden floors. Also, appearance is one of the basic criteria when choosing a wooden outdoor floor, compared to other materials, such as ceramic tiles or concrete tiles. They are a contemporary solution for decorating outdoor spaces that is in the top of preferences.
- Decks, both wooden and composite, are designed as a ventilated floor solution, in the sense that air must circulate freely, both between the boards and underneath, so that the elements remain permanently dry. That is why it is very important to respect the joint between the boards as well as the height of the structure that separates the deck boards from the support layer.
- The WPC deck from Decolandia is a high-quality wood-polymer composite product. The wood comes from massive parquet factories, being both bamboo fibers and other essences (oak, beech, palin, etc.). They have a large grain, increasing the material’s resistance.
- The polymers used in the production of the Decolandia composite are of the HDPE type, which makes the material more environmentally friendly than other types of composite that contain, for example, PVC.
- The composition is 60% wood, 30% HDPE polymers and 10% non-toxic dyes and stabilizers.
- It is important to follow the assembly instructions so as to take into account the nature of the material. The composite material has several particularities, one of them being the high coefficient of expansion and contraction, and therefore the plates must have joints on the ends. The distance between the support rules is also important. It must not exceed 40 cm between the axes, so that the deck boards do not bend, and the ends of the boards must each rest on its own structure (so the structures are doubled when joining the boards). Also, the WPC deck must not be drilled and fastened with screws, otherwise, towards its ends, where the expansion is greatest, the deck will break where it is drilled.
- The wpc deck can be mounted both floating and by attaching it to the support layer. In the case of waterproofing, it is forbidden to pierce them with screws. As such, the most viable option is the floating assembly in these situations.
- The terrace can be mounted at the level of the support layer, or it can be elevated using adjustable floats. These elevation legs (adjustable slabs) have multiple advantages, they can be adjusted individually, thus obtaining the desired flatness and drainage slope, they can be mounted floating, being a solution often used in the case of waterproofing, they allow for subsequent disassembly and also it masks the various elements, such as some installations that pass under the deck.
- This type of WPC deck is one of the best floor solutions for covering outdoor terraces, being resistant to the weather, sunlight, not needing laborious maintenance, and having a very pleasant appearance with a clean surface and brushing fine.
- The brown color is warm, reminiscent of heat-treated natural wood, suitable in many contexts and decorations. The WPC floor is very easy to maintain by simply washing it with water or using a detergent for decks.
